Kur Recovery Spa is out to help clients recover more quickly, whether from an injury, a recent athletic performance, or just a strenuous workout. Two recovery tools work in tandem at the spa: whole-body cryotherapy and NormaTec compression.
During cryotherapy, clients step into a subzero chamber where temperatures can reach as low as -188º. The freezing temps work to not only speed up muscle recovery, but also decrease pain and inflammation and even improve sleep quality. NormaTec sessions, meanwhile, use compressed air to massage limbs and send athletes back out on the playing field.
About the Owners
KUR Recovery Spa was started in 2018 by Jeff and Allyson Tanner. They discovered cryotherapy in Indiana (The Recovery Room). Jeff felt immediate relief from back pain and Allyson recognized the need for natural pain relief in the Old Saybrook area. KUR might have had a longer gestational period then their child, but it was well worth it!

About the Services
Cryotherapy triggers anti-inflammatory nor-epinephrine release that reduces short-term pain from injuries.
Exposure to dry heat accelerates heart rate, speeding the circulation of blood, typically doubling the flow of blood.
How Cryotherapy Helps Relief of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Cryotherapy involves the use of extremely cold temperatures to relieve pain and promote general
wellness. Proponents of cryotherapy can help improve symptoms of a variety of chronic pain conditions,
including rheumatoid arthritis.
